Audience review
The importance of an audience review to any institution or production can not be stressed any further as it is they the audience who will be the end-users of the product, that is why before we began to create our documentary we decided it was crucial we carried out some audience research in the form of questionnaires which we handed out and got feedback from. The following are the questions asked and the feed back we received from the audience:
Q1.What gender are you?
Response:
We handed out 30 questionnaire sheet’s so it were essential for us to have an equal amount of males and females, so we asked 15 males and 15 females to take part in our audience review.
Q2. What age category do you fit into?
Response:
- Four out of the thirty people we interviewed were between the ages of 15-17.
- Fourteen of the thirty participants were between the ages of 18-21.
- And 12 of the thirty people said that they were aged 22 and over.
Q.3What the main features you look for in a documentary? I.e cutaways, titles, narration
Response:
For this question we gave the audience options to make it easier for them to have an idea of what we were asking, the majority of the audience said that they expected to see codes and conventions such as: Cutaways, voice-over narration, Facts and figures, score music and titles.
However the minority said that they expected to see a voice-over narration and facts and figures.
Q.4 Do you feel that the topic of student behaviour is relevant in today’s society? Please explain.
Response:
They all inclined that student behaviour were relevant in today’s society, and all agreed that this was down to the decline in student behaviour.
Q.5 What do you expect to be explored within this documentary?
Their answer’s varied and these were their responses: “why there is a decline in student behaviour”, “What is being done about the decline”, “Interviews with students and members of institutions such as teachers and governors”.
Q.6 Are there any suggestions for other issues you would like to see explored in the documentary?
